A Bittersweet Goodbye to 2009!
This year has proven to be economically challenging for many of us, and I am acutely aware of the fact that I am feeling relieved to say goodbye to 2009. As a result, it seems only fair that I should look back and take note of the positives. In retrospect, there have been many.
One of the biggest rewards of the year came from working on the four editions of San Joaquin Woman magazine that we published in 2009, including this one.
It has provided me with the opportunity to meet some of the most unique and interesting women of this community, some of whom I would probably never have crossed paths with, had I not learned of them from our readers.
Most of the ideas for our features on local women come directly from your suggestions. There are so many unsung heroines right here in our own backyard. It gives us great pleasure to bring their stories to you so we can all realize how much we have to be proud of as women, and as residents of San Joaquin County.
We hope you’ll agree that this final edition of the year is full of inspiring women, fun ideas, and helpful advice. You will meet women who keep our beloved pets safe while we are away, and those who help keep our streets safe by prosecuting criminals.
You will find fun fashions that won’t break the bank, and advice on how much you should be putting in the bank. There’s also a turkey recipe that is sure to impress at any holiday gathering, and a calendar of events that will keep you entertained until the clock strikes midnight in 2010.
So curl up in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate (extra marshmallows) and enjoy! And as always, we want to hear from you, so please tell us what you want to see in San Joaquin Woman magazine in 2010.
